It’s all happening – cue the happy dance! Wedding planning has officially begun, and you’re now tasked with finding a collection of cards to share all of the day-of details in a way that suits your style. Maybe you’re someone who gushes over custom letterpress, or quite possibly, you’re like many of us who know what they like when they see it, but aren’t up to speed on all of the printing terminology. In that case, this is the guide for you.
Here, we’ll break down our three printing styles and how each will display the details of your best day ahead.
Simple Serif Letterpress Wedding Invitation, Available Here
The most premium of our three print styles, custom letterpress and foil are simple yet elegant in their presentation. With both custom letterpress and foil stamping, we create a personalized plate with all of your wedding details. The plate is then pressed onto each card to transfer the ink or foil to the paper using heat.
For our specific offerings, custom letterpress is offered with black ink, and custom foil is offered with gold, silver, copper, or burgundy foil. The process is the same with both ink and foil, and leaves a subtle indentation on the cards for a truly premium design aesthetic. For our custom letterpress and foil cards, we print on premium quality Mohawk Superfine Eggshell paper, with a thickness of 130 lb.

Pronounced Thank You Card with Foil, Available Here
With foil-stamped wedding cards, static elements of your design will be foil stamped onto each card. This could include a phrase such as “Always & Forever” or “Thanks,” as pictured above. With this type of foil stamping, we use the same plate to stamp the ink across multiple card orders, which comes at a lower cost to you, as opposed to custom foil stamping, where a unique plate is designed for each order.
The stamping process is the same across both printing styles, aside from the fact that only static elements are printed with foil in this case. Any custom details for your wedding day including name, date, time, and more are printed digitally with ink. This option allows you to enjoy the premium look of foil stamping, at a lower price than the custom letterpress and foil. For our foil-stamped card offerings, we print on premium quality Mohawk Superfine Eggshell paper, with a thickness of 120 lb.

You’ll find digital printing throughout our product line – it’s how we print the pages of our Hardcover and Softcover Photo Books, Everyday Prints, Holiday Cards, and more. With this style of printing, the ink is digitally printed by recreating the image or text using tiny ink dots, directly onto matte paper. If you’re looking to include a photo on your wedding cards, digital printing is a great option for you!
With digitally printed wedding cards, you can select your ink color of choice within the editor. For our digitally printed card offerings, we print on premium quality Mohawk Superfine Eggshell paper, with a thickness of 120 lb.
